ABOUT US
Lessons-4-All was developed by two experienced special education teachers
in Georgia. We found it difficult to locate materials appropriate for our
special needs students and began creating our own materials. Although Keeli
worked with elementary students and Juanita worked with high school students,
we found the basic elements were the same for both age groups with slight
changes to make the materials age appropriate for the teens. The response from
the teachers we worked with and the limited materials available encouraged us
to develop this website to share our ideas and materials with other teachers.
All of the materials have been tried and refined in the classroom. We hope you
enjoy using them as much as we enjoyed making them.
Keeli Bowen teaches elementary students with Moderate Intellectual
Disabilities in the Cobb County School District in the Atlanta, GA area. She spent several years in a classroom for students with autism. She has
conducted training in the local school system. In addition to the classroom,
her experience includes being a case worker for the Georgia Department of Human
Resources working closely with the special needs population seeking services. The
materials Keeli produces have been used by students with a variety of
disabilities across age groups.
Juanita Pritchard is currently employed as an Assistive Technology Specialist
in the Cobb County School District in the Atlanta, GA area. Her classroom
background is with high school Moderate and Severe Intellectually Disabled
students, as well as working for several years in a community based vocational
training program for high school intellectually disabled students. She is also
the co-author of From the Classroom to the Workplace: Vol. I and II
, 1996 from Mayer-Johnson (with a CD revision in prepublication). She does
training for teachers and therapists for school systems and presents regularly
for the Georgia Project for Assistive Technology. Juanita is also a National
Board Certified Teacher.
